Children & Youth
Grace United Church in Sarnia has many activities for children and youth.
Nursery
A newly renovated, fully staffed nursery is available for your infant toddler each Sunday morning. You are are welcome to stay in the nursery with your child or let our nursery staff care for your child while you participate in worship. Take a pager with you so our nursery staff can contact you if necessary.
Kinder Worship
Children age 3 to Senior Kindergarten worship together through song, prayer, and creative scripture exploration. Each week the children participate in a dramatic retelling and active exploration of a bible story and are immersed in the language, rituals and symbols of Christian worship.
Children's Worship
The focus on worship and biblical literacy continues for children grades 1 to 3 in Children’s Worship. Each week the children participate in active games that invite them into a new bible story.
Splat! and Jolt Night for Youth
Splat!: On Sunday morning, children from grades 4 to 8 have a blast exploring the historical background to popular bible stories through sport and very active, participatory games that engage the creative juices. Running shoes are a must!
Jolt Night: On the fourth Friday of each month, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.,children from grades 4 to 8 meet at the church to enjoy high-energy, outrageous recreational activities. Come out and let the Grace youth group lead you in an evening you’ll never forget. Bring a toonie, bring your friends, and be sure to wear running shoes.
High School and Youth Group
Sunday Morning: High school students chilax on couches as they explore the connection between biblical themes and local and global issues. Students also coordinate outreach activities like hosting monthly dances for Community Living.
Youth Group: High school aged youth meet on selected Sunday evenings to prepare and share a meal together, lose themselves in ridiculous games, build friendships, and serve the community. Weekend retreats, road trips and other special events happen throughout the year.
