About Us:

Grace United Church is an Affirming church in the north end of Sarnia, Ontario. We strive to live up to our mission of being an inclusive, intergenerational, community partner. We are a busy, engaged congregation that considers music to be central to our worship.  Our staff consists of two ministers, a music director, office administrator, and custodian.  We have an 1895, fully rebuilt, Steinway full size grand piano and a Seiler upright piano, both in excellent condition.  Our organ is a Rogers two manual, digital pipe organ with full foot pedals and a Roland “Sound Canvas” attached. The sanctuary is a modern worship space with a full sound booth, projectors, and screens.  Other instruments available include a Yamaha drum kit, lead and bass guitar with amps, a Korg “TR Music Workstation" digital piano (88 keys) and various percussion instruments such as djembe and bongos.  We currently have a senior choir of approximately 15 people.  We are looking for someone who can expand and revitalize our choral presence during worship. The inclusion of children and youth in music is important to us and an area in which we would like to grow.  Prior to the pandemic we also had a band (rhythm/lead and bass guitar, grand piano, digital piano, drums, solo vocals) that performed semi-regularly. We have an excellent performance space and a number of musicians in the faith community who can provide back-up and support to the Music Director.  There is the opportunity for the Music Director to use the church as a teaching space.
