Purpose: To provide leadership in the care and oversight of the work of the staff as it relates to the mission of Grace United Church.

Time Commitment: Two hours per month for a regularly scheduled meeting (no meetings in the summer months) and a few extra hours during the year depending on staff needs (ex. Annual Reviews, annual compensation proposals and approvals, dialogues with specific staff members, etc.).

Skill Profile: The Handbook for Ministry and Personnel Committees (2003: page 7) spells out in some detail skills that would be helpful, including some of the following:

• knowledge of United Church policies and practices
• good inter-personal and communication skills
• experience within the organization of the Pastoral Charge
• human resources or personnel training or experience
• conflict resolution skills

Chairperson: Rotates every three months
